Compliance chip? Advanced combat protocol? What's he playing at? Coco's life is about to SUCK.

Don't forget to vote for Tripp with the blue vote box above the title of the comic. Maybe I can whip up a vote incentive. I'm open to suggestions... :)

@interspark - There's a decent chance...

@Chaos Master - And she might, eventually. But not in the way you expect...

@francisco - Hahaha, I love that list! It's a chip with combat protocols AND compliance to avoid just such an unsavory scenario for the King.

You're right about the volunteers, there's a reason he's going through the trouble with Coco.

I'll try to stay away from the stupid plot tricks and if used, will be sure to have the character's tongue planted firmly in their cheek. :)

@Ultimate the Hedgehog - Thanks, Ultimate!

@Mongoose - He knows that very shortly, he won't have to worry about it. :)

@Francisco - You know, it's funny you mention that. I really wrestled with having her dropping f-bombs but it felt sort of out of character. Now, Sam, on the other hand...

@eb - Absolutely! That's perfect because I was going for a mix of Ming and a creepy old man.

@GreyouTT - Haha, no he certainly doesn't.

@Thief King - Fear not, the swirly backgrounds do come back. There are few strips here that don't have them because I was figuring out background stuff in photoshop but I have found a way to do both now.

@guest - Think Ming's older, creepier, more deviant twin brother.

Training villains

He wants to give someone who is openly hostile to him a chip with combat protocols?

That king obviously hasn't read the Evil Overlord's list:

48. I will treat any beast which I control through magic or technology with respect and kindness. Thus if the control is ever broken, it will not immediately come after me for revenge.

OK, Coco's not a beast but, with the combat chip, it'll probably apply.

There's also:

84. I will not have captives of one sex guarded by members of the opposite sex.

I suspect Coco would use that to her advantage.

Also:

213. I will not wear long, heavy cloaks. While they make a bold fashion statement, they have an annoying tendency to get caught in doors or tripped over during an escape.

Under Evil Resolutions:

84. One of my close advisors will be a prolific hack novelist. If my plan matches or mimics any of his plots, it will be summarily rejected.

and last, but not least:

35. I will not grow a goatee. In the old days they made you look diabolic. Now they just make you look like a disaffected member of Generation X

Ps.

Question

If they Narva were not evil, why did they kidnap someone? Why would they use mind control to achieve their ends?

They could have just as easily put an ad in a paper asking for volunteers to leave the planet to help populate a new world and they would have had queues around the block.

{edit} I suspect Sam would have been one of those queuing had they done so.

Is that all?

I'm a little disappointed with Coco. I would have expected her to be at least inventive with her curses.

Classic. I see Max von Sydow as the King in the live-action version.
